Szombathy már a 70-es évek elején nagy fotósorozatokban gondolkodott, kiterjedt urbánus nyelvi jelenségeket rögzített és rendszerezett. Felhívta a figyelmet a spontán létrejövő nyelvi entitások meglétére és művészetfenomenológiai megkerülhetetlenségére. Az Üdv! című sorozat nyitott műtípus, bármikor bővíthető. Számszerű fejlesztése semmit sem veszít frissességéből, az általa felvetett problematika mindig időszerű marad. Beigazolva a mindenkori igazságot: a művészet örök. Egyúttal Robert Filliou nagy igazságát is: a művészet mindenhol ott van, ahol a művész ott tartózkodik.
Already in the early 1970s, Szombathy was thinking in terms of large photo series, recording and systematising extensive urban linguistic phenomena. He drew attention to the existence and art-phenomenological inevitability of spontaneously generated linguistic entities. The Hi! series is an open work, it can be augmented at any time. Its quantitative development takes none of its freshness away, and the problems it raises will always remain topical. Thus proving the omnipresent truth: art is eternal. And also the great truth of Robert Filliou: art is wherever the artist is.
